New Web Tool Helps Medicare Beneficiaries Make Informed Coverage Decisions
BOSTON — October 6, 2026 — finStream this week launched ANOCLens, a free web tool that helps people read their Medicare Annual Notice of Change (ANOC), available now at https://www.finstream.tv/anoclens/.
The tool is designed to help millions of Medicare beneficiaries nationwide understand the changes to their Medicare Advantage and Part D plans that take effect in the coming year.
Each fall, Medicare enrollees receive the Annual Notice of Change, which details updates to plan costs, benefits, provider networks and prescription drug coverage effective Jan. 1. With industry-wide adjustments anticipated for 2027, including dropped plans and changes to formularies, prompt review of the ANOC is essential. Failing to review these notices can result in higher out-of-pocket costs and loss of access to preferred providers or medications.
“Medicare prescription drug coverage for 2027 has changed significantly and will lead to surprising increases in consumer costs,” said Katy Votava, president of Goodcare.com and author of Making the Most of Medicare: A Guide for Baby Boomers, who reviewed ANOCLens. “Now more than ever, people should review their Medicare Part D and Medicare Advantage plans to ensure they have the best drug coverage for their needs. Also, if you have a Medicare Advantage plan, confirm your care providers are in-network to avoid unpleasant surprises in January 2027.”
ANOCLens walks users through their notice step by step. It compares this year’s and next year’s plan costs against the care and prescriptions each user expects to need, then estimates the annual dollar difference and flags the changes that matter most. When the numbers show little change, the tool says so plainly. Users can then enter the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period, which runs Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, knowing whether their current plan still fits their needs for 2027.
“Our mission is to demystify Medicare communications so beneficiaries can protect their health and finances,” said Robert Powell, CFP®, RMA®, co-founder of finStream. “ANOCLens simplifies a process that can feel overwhelming and ensures people on Medicare have the information they need to make informed choices during open enrollment.”
ANOCLens does not recommend plans, sell insurance or connect users with agents. For additional support and unbiased guidance, users are encouraged to consult their State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP), Medicare.gov or the 1-800-MEDICARE helpline.
