Sensible Money

Chuck Robinson has extensive experience in the retirement income field, serving as the Senior Vice President for Investment Products and Services for Northwestern Mutual, the Chief Marketing Officer for Global Retirement Services for AIG, and as the Senior VP of Institutional Marketing at VALIC. Prior to moving into the executive level Chuck spent the first 10 years of his financial planning career at VALIC assisting teachers, professors and healthcare professionals with their retirement and financial planning needs. Chuck has often said that after all his career moves, what he still loves most is sitting across the conference room table having one-on-one discussions with families; discussions that educate, bring peace of mind, financial security and result in competent solutions to complex financial issues. Chuck authored the article “A Phased-Income Approach to Retirement Withdrawals: A New Paradigm” in the Journal of Financial Planning, which won The Editor’s Choice Award in 2007, is the inventor of a 2010 patented retirement planning process, identified by Financial Research Company (FRC) as a "Best Practice" in the industry, and served as a Former Director and Past Chair of the Appeals Committee for the CFP® Board of Standards. After trying retirement a few times, Chuck decided it wasn’t for him; he joined Sensible Money to continue contributing his wealth of retirement planning knowledge to clients, and to assist the firm in managing the rapid growth it has experienced. Originally from Ohio, Chuck received his B.A. in International Relations from The School of International Service at American University, and his M.A. in American Diplomatic History from Ohio State University. When not working, Chuck spends time with his wife Sharon, their triplets, and their three dogs.
