Around 2016, after a decades-long career in International Corporate Finance, Banking & Financial Services, Julio Lopez-Brito started contemplating a gradual transition into early retirement. To round his professional skills and credentials as a financial advisor focused on retirement planning, he obtained the CFP® as well as the Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) designations from the American College of Financial Services complementing MBA and MPhil. degrees in Finance from NYU Stern. He is also an Enrolled Agent admitted to practice before the IRS. Aside from his professional activities, Julio has also been actively involved with the local retiree community as a volunteer instructor and advisory council member of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at The University of Miami; a committee member of United Way’s “Continue United” initiative for Miami’s 55+ community and as a volunteer certified tax preparer with the AARP Tax-Aide.
