MOHELA: Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority or MOHELA is one of the largest holders and servicers of student loans in the United States.
MOHELA is a quasi-governmental, nonprofit organization based in St. Louis, Missouri, and one of the largest student loan servicers in the USA. Established in 1981 by the Missouri General Assembly, MOHELA was created to manage student loans under the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP) and has since expanded to service both federal and private student loans.
